Stay beautiful. Stay bold. Stay you.
Name: Talisa A. Anderson, my friends call me Tally

Family dynamics: I have been married to my handsome husband Julius for 18 years.
Hobbies/Pastime: Makeup and HGTV (because in my head I can do all of the renovations that they do)
Business/Talent: My business is Tally Made Beauty, a cosmetic line of luscious lashes and bold lip colors. My talent is to inspire and empower women. I do this through my business and through ministry as I also founded a Prophetic Arts Dance Academy. I have been a minister of dance for over 20 years.
Where are you from? Where do you live? We moved around a lot. I was born in Savannah Georgia but raised in the Midwest (Indiana/Chicago). My husband and I reside in Memphis TN.
What are you passionate about? What’s the driving force behind it? I am passionate about seeing women walk into their full personality, potential, and peace. My relationship with God is my driving force, I cannot help but to see myself in many of the ladies that I encounter. I execute in the understanding that we all have a journey, and I just get to be a light at times.

What’s your skill set? I have a knack for the necessary! I am a solutionist, meaning if there is a problem I naturally want to figure out how to get over it, around it, or how to knock it down. I am great at all beautiful things. I love makeup and that’s what I am known for but I also love and appreciate the performing arts.
What set you apart from others of your same field? The beauty industry is heavily saturated; I believe my motive sets me apart. Many focus on the vanity of it but I like to use it as a tool of empowerment. I really enjoy being a beauty resource for
women. I host classes for everything from basic makeup application to classes for ladies who need to find shape wear for their body type and fashions.
What’s your purpose in life? I want to leave the earth empty, in short my purpose is to please God with my life and I plan on doing that through my beauty business, and dance academy.

If you could choose any career in the world, would you still choose the career or
talent you have? I always thought I would be a cosmetologist; I ended up as a Makeup Artist and I wouldn’t change that. I have also worked in higher education for over 20 years as an admin, a job I started doing as a work study. The job has allowed me to have an array of opportunities I would not have had otherwise. I believe that we all have a limited view in life and only God sees the complete
picture and I would not trade that journey for anything!
What would you tell your younger self? I would tell my younger self to be patient and to speak up sooner. I would give her permission to be unique even when people made her feel like she was odd. I would tell her to take more chances.
Knowing what you know now, would you change anything in your past? No, I believe that everything happens for a reason and all things work together for my good. (Romans 8:28)
Who are your rolemodels? Dr. Ruby Cain (RIP), Kim Kimble, Mr. Issac Jamierson and Dr. Taquetta Baker. Each of them carries a strength and wisdom that I admire, and I admire how they lead others.
What would you say to those that are starting out in your field? Do your research and get a mentor.

What is your favorite quote? Explain? “Beauty with purpose, confidence with faith” Its my mantra, it it isn’t bringing joy to people and glory to God then why am I doing it!
What or who has inspired your gift/vision? Dr. Taquetta Baker was the first mentor to teach me to have vision and to write down my vision. She has been a source of wisdom for me for over 20 years.
What is your favorite holiday and why? I love the Christmas season. People are nicer and working in higher education we get a break.
Do you have any regrets? If so what are they and what would you do to rectify those thoughts? I do not believe in living regretfully, I do however believe in learning lessons and even righting wrongs that are in my power to do so. I can only control my response, not the outcome!
What has been your biggest accomplishment? I am a first-generation high school graduate, associate’s degree recipient, bachelor’s degree recipient and master’s degree recipient. We do graduate in this family!
Whats a fun fact about you? I was in a commercial in high school and I published my first song at 21.
If you could be any animal what would you be and why? Lion, I love their majesty. The effortless leadership. Lions do not announce themselves, you know that’s a lion and keep it moving.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? I see myself coast to coast rather that be with my beauty business or ministry I do not plan on being stationary.
If you could leave a legacy, what would that look like? I would want my legacy to be that I loved people well, and that I did right by them; that people feel safe under my care. I’d like people to be both encouraged and inspired by where I am
from and what I was able to accomplish.
